last time I built a web site was 1995
You can find www.horse-country.com in the Wayback Machine. It ran for over 10 years, had content for horse crazy girls, a jr rider and young rider mail lists, five mail lists for five game villages. It almost became a kick ass game with edu content covering STEM subjects and it was a lot of fun. I still know some of those “kids” - they are doctors, cowgirls with medical degrees, a veterinarian, art gallery directors, and have degrees in all disciplines. Many have horses and many still ride.
Meanwhile in real life I ran darkrooms at two universities: University of Washington and Oregon State University. I set up the first computer graphic studio at UW Pathology Department. I built web site before Web Crawler search engine.
Before all that I returned to university to earn a BFA to learn photography while I reared a 4yo daughter.
Fstopcafe.com is my second website and a gallery of my digital art photography work. I used to love the darkroom. I don’t miss the health and environmental costs.
Let me know if I need to fix something, or if you want to ask about an image you’ve seen on bsky.media or IG.
Next post will be an illustrated guide to the printer, paper and inks I use to print my own files at home in my own studio. First I need to paint the house shutters before it starts to rain.
